Unbelievably set off in sunshine and another tail wind. I hasten to add that the tail winds only last about an hour but it is a help! Meet Sam from the RAF at Inverurie and chatted up to OLD MELDRUM, where we took our O photo. The next hour was horrendous. Long, uppy downy, boring, road which we were all glad to get off. Had to try some of the slug like energy jellies to keep us going. Ventured onto the A96 which was not too busy thankfully and lunched at Asda where we had to wait for a table!!! Blasted onto KEITH, for our K photo then buzzing for the end we hit the scenic route to Elgin, which includes a lovely downhill, to meet up with Amanda, Debbie and Lucy from the RAF who convey us into the E for ELGIN and then final photos and celebration drink (of water of course!!!) at the cathedral where we upset the tourists. Yipee, we are finally finished!!! Distance: 120km , Time: 5 hours 32 Feel strangely refreshed - must be the excitement but sure will be sore tomorrow! xx
